VHF Marine Radio Channels

The diagram below identifies the channels that can be used for initial contact and working channels.

Channel 16 – Used for initial voice comunications and also used after contact has been made by DSC on Ch 70.

Channel 70 – Digital Selective Calling (DSC) only channel – Non voice

Channel 67 – Supplementary Channel to Ch 16. Also used to broadcast the contents of navigational safety messages after the message has been broadcast on Channel 16
